Plock

Plock- now, the center of petro industry. Centuries ago ... I even heard that it was a capital for 3 days. For sure it was a residence of polish king. It was just a years before Warsaw became a capital. Other fact is that now it is one of the ugliest cities that I saw. Ok, they've got a nice old town but it is enought to move 100 meters from that and you see ruins. However, Plock is fighting back. Thanks to the localisation (120 km from Warsaw) it is becoming more and more popular. Vistula river, that is crossing that city, is nearly clear and you can swim. Also they organize a lot of casual festivals on the beach. I'll tell about one of them later.

US3 - nice to host you here

Once a year in all major cities of Poland students have their fest. Depends on place and univesities it is a weekend, week or longer when they rule the place. We call it 'Juwenalia' from latin 'juve'. As we all know, student is a very impredictable beast so to make them calm, locals organize some 'attractions'. Thanks to that I was able (unfortunately not as a student anymore) to watch US3 live. They were great- as always.

Ukraine's day

In the modern history of Poland and Soviet Union some, lets call it 'errors' happend. One of them was moving people from the area of Ukraine (int those days Ukraine was a part of USSR) to the various locations in Poland. So the people from Ukraine's landed in the area of Wroclaw and Mazury. They still use their language, have a strong culture and influences in the local authorities. I was enough lucky to see 10th Ukrainian day of culture in Gizycko.

And there was one touchy event. Despite the fact that those were UKRAINIAN days, other minorities, such as german one, has a time for their performance. Realy great idea (but ukrainians were better :P )

Mazury 2

A beautyful and calm place by the river. You've got there fields, rivers, silence and realy nice people. Or maybe you want some canoeing?

Most of the grounds are already bought by the people from big cities. Hovewer, if you have a child or just need rest just go there! You can always help local people with harvests. For those who work in the office 8h by 5d it is a nice change. Believe me- I did it this time (see me,myself and I) and I feel great.

Mazury

Finally, the summer has come and the seasson of trips has started. I went to visit Mazury, the region famous of their lakes. It is not far away from previously described (better to say: mentioned) Gdansk.

Lakes were made by the great glacier, the same that killed mammoths (remember the "Ice Age" ;) ) .

As it is in the most cases- water is for tourists, ground is for people who lives there. This time I had an oportunity to look at the Mazury from this second point of wiev...

Gdansk

I'm not a kind of sea lover but weekend in Gdansk sounds good even for me. Gdansk has a huge history. As most of a port-cities it has a huge importance for a country that it belonged too. So Gdansk was German (exactly Prusian), for a moment it was so called 'free city Gdansk' that means that it was a kind of a country-city. And finally it is Polish (it was Polish previously but was going from hand to hand). Thanks to that there is a lot of architecture gems and a lot of ruins.

Find a palm tree on this picture and then tell me WHY! In fact I realy like that 'monument'. It shows the spirit of Warsaw- nothing suits to anything.
Small hint to ticke your brain- we have minus 15 celsius degrees during the winter. Snow on the palm tree? That is something!

Warsaw, again- the downtown. You may believe or not but 10 years ago you'd see only 2 of those buildings. And second thing, bridge that I'm standing on- is a fresh one. We have about 10 bridges in cepital what is a funny number but it is better that before. One of the most ridiculus of them was destroyed- luckily because it was builded 40 years ago for 5 years and used 7 times longer that it was predicted (it was a floating bridge !!!)

It is only case of 'lost path'. When you look around you you'll always find such places as that one. This is some room under the bridge in the downtown of bielsko-biala, 50 meters from those people on the bench.

Another shelter. In this area shelter means something different. You have water, electricity and normal bed. Sometimes it happens that there is even swimming pool.

That's the other part of Poland- capital. As all caps this is also beautyful and colorful on the top but it is just a crap when you look at it from the bottom side.
Warsaw is strange. That city Saw The War and you might see that war too- there are still buildings with scars on the facade. Strange because warsaw's war was 50 years ago. I've been to Belgrad few years ago and there is no single hole after the bullet in the wall. So lets start with warsaw

I wasn't the only one there. But those days it is not so easy to find someone on your path. When I started from the first shelter there were only few turists. Mostly from germany and czech republic. Then I found some pols but it was at the end of the trip (near the sniezka mountain), deeper in the polish territory. That's sad. Few years ago that was a crowded place. Now it is easier for everyone to go by the sea side than spend a week on a walk trought the mountains. But the weight and lazyness of 'statistic' pol raised together with his/her salary

Zgodnie z zyczeniem Krzysia bedzie po polsku.
Schronisko pod Lebskim Szczytem. Gdzies w Karkonoszach.
Bo to bylo tak, ze mi sie szlak pomylil i zamiast pojsc w gory izerskie to mi sie w druga strone poszlo- i zle nie bylo.
Obsluga na pierwszy rzut oka wyglada atrakcyjnie acz w obyciu szorstka. Po chwili jednak obycie staje sie bardziej szlacheckie. Nie ma co ukrywac- dziewczyna pewnie juz z niejednym debilem musiala dyskutowac i trzyma zdrowy dystans na starcie! Potem jest OK wiec nie zgrywajcie wielkich faj.
Ceny: piwo-5;wyro-od 18;papu-?(mialem swoje).
Lokalizacja: boska !!! Miejce na ognisko a dodatkowo w stawiku pluskaja sie zolwie ! Woda jest. Nawet ciepla. Czysto schludnie i cicho- niespotykanie cicho. Wroce tam na pewno
